Alfalaki
Frequently Asked Questions
How Alfalaki computes readings, what it does with your birth data, which house system it uses, and whether astrology is a science — answered plainly.
Is Alfalaki free?
Yes, entirely. No subscription, no account, no email required, and no advertising. Every page — horoscopes, natal chart, synastry, tarot — is open without a limit.
How are the readings calculated?
From the real sky, in your browser. Each daily reading uses the Sun's current degree, the Moon's actual sign and phase, and the tightest current aspect between planets, computed with the VSOP87/ELP2000 ephemeris rather than pulled from a weekly text feed.
Do you store my birth date and time?
No. Birth details are processed locally by JavaScript on your own device and are never uploaded, stored or logged. Close the tab and they are gone — from your machine and, unavoidably, from ours too.
Why is my rising sign different on another site?
Usually a birth-time problem, not a math problem. The ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes, so a birth time rounded to the nearest hour can move it a whole sign. Check your certificate, then cast the chart here and compare the exact degree.
Which house system do you use?
Both Whole Sign and Placidus are available on the natal chart, because the honest answer to which one is right is that it depends on the tradition you follow. Whole Sign is the older, simpler frame; Placidus became the modern Western default.
Is astrology a science?
No, and we do not market it as one. The astronomy under the readings is exact and checkable; the interpretation is symbolic tradition, valued for what it helps people see, not for predictive power it does not have.
Where does the content come from?
Written by hand for this site, in English and Arabic, at the same depth in both. Nothing is scraped from another horoscope site, and no page is generated by filling a template with the sign name.
I found a mistake. What now?
Please tell us — a wrong degree, a broken page, or awkward Arabic. Send the page address to the contact in the footer and it will be checked and corrected. We would rather be corrected than quoted wrong.
